The staff of ‘Whats Up? Lynchburg’ just want to take the time to thank everyone here on Tumblr for their support. In case you didn’t know, this publication was the group project of a small team of Liberty students. With the final presentation of our magazine being today, we can honestly say this project was a success thanks to all of you. So a big thank you to everyone who followed, reblogged, liked, or even looked at our page. Your response has been fantastic. With our class over and the semester coming to a close this will be our last post here on Tumblr. Good luck to everyone on their finals (dont procrastinate too much on Tumblr) and a safe trip to anyone traveling for the holidays. Of course, don’t forget to stop and enjoy the beautiful city of lynchburg.

With finals week creaking close by, most college students will be running on pure coffee. For some people just able any coffee will do, but if you want to reward yourself with one of the best brewed cups of coffee in the ‘Burg, try ‘the White Hart.’ The atmosphere is perfect for studying, reading, or just unwinding by chatting with a friend. ‘The White Hart’ has a full menu of meals, pastries, and sandwiches. Don’t like coffee? Try a refreshing, hand-made Italian soda.

The best $1.50 I have ever spent was just a few days ago at the Farm Basket Café. The lemon nut bread with cream cheese filling has been on my mind ever since. Maybe it was the perfect combination of tangy and sweetness or perhaps just the outstanding creek side location that made my afternoon snack so perfect. What a great place to catch up on some reading. Check it out for yourself.

Blink 182-Neighborhoods: September 27 Ever since blink-182 announced their reunion in February 2009, we have all been waiting for their new album, this arguably the most anticipated rock record of 2011. The album is a far cry from the naivety of “All The Small Things,” as the band expands their sound as their lyrics embellish a darker sound while still maintaining certain familiarities to the band most of us grew up with. Check out their single “Up All Night.”

Oh Sleeper will be performing tonight in Lynchburg!

Signs of the band’s development are scattered all over the record’s first two minutes. Gone are Survival’s campfire strums, and in their place some fuzzed-out, Martsch-sized riffage that unfurls across “Born Into”’s expansive sprawl. And in true Forest Fire fashion, there’s plenty more sprawl where that came from.
